Philip Island and life

Since I don't work on Wednesdays (thank god! such a lifesaver) I usually end up going on a trip to make most of my time here. Considering I am actually halfway done with being here it is kind of scary, I just keep thinking I won't have time to see everything I want to see. That's why I was burned up a couple of times since being here - I don't want to waste time as I am scared I won't have time to see everything. But I have learned my lessons and I took some days off when I was just chilling by the pool doing absolutely nothing.

Last week, as I said, we ended up going on another trip. We took a car and drove almost 3 hours to reach Philip Island. We were there for lunchtime and I ordered baked cauliflower. And that's exactly what I got - a head of baked cauliflower (or half baked? I don't even know haha). But had a 3 scoop ice cream in a cafe called Isola (lol what are the chances) so that was a good balance haha.

Because there's not really much to see on the island rather than penguins at night we were just chilling and walking along the beach and the small town. It was such nice weather but so windy... at some points, I actually thought we were gonna be blown away.

I also went to the koala centre - because you can never see too many koalas. Soo fluffy you just want to take them home. When it was getting dark we went to the "penguin centre" aka the beach where penguins come out of the water every night. You are not allowed to take any pictures (hence no penguins today) and you almost freeze due to the ocean breeze - but it is an experience, to say the least.

On Thursday I said I will take it easy but ended up being in the city centre most of the time. It took me forever to get downtown because the train was not working so we had to wait for bus replacement. and as we were driving to the city the bus driver was asking us for directions because apparently this was the first time driving this route (lol). At some point, we made the wrong turn and he started turning in the middle of the road. I did some shopping (which I don't really enjoy actually) and went to see Victoria state library (I actually got lost and couldn't find my way out). And did you really go to the city if you didn't pay too much for brunch?

During the weekend I:

- had the most amazing acai bowl (brunch is my weakness)

- went for a run in the rain and got completely soaked

- attended a house party with private DJ (and left at 22:30 because I am old and wanted to sleep haha - to be fair, the party and bbq started at 17)

- had to get up too early for Church on Sunday

- took a car ride with my uncle - with this really cold old car he "put together" (lol obviously I know nothing about cars. "Vem sam da ma 4. neki mašino in da ful potegne. al celo še več? nimam pojma - fajn je blo")

- spend most of my day either in the hammock, by the pool or lying in bed - doing nothing. And ate way too much chocolate and ice cream (#couch potato)

Also, I just want to say, that not everything is perfect (as it might seem). For example, there were days I got burned out from work and wanting to see everything. So I literally spend days watching movies and doing nothing - not even leaving the house. Another thing is that both of my apartments are so far from the city, it takes me 1hour with public transport to get downtown. So I really need to plan and organize well if I want to go to the city and meet friends. Also, I live with 4 other dudes who just don't know what clean apartment means. I really avoid cooking in the kitchen because apparently it's not common to clean after yourself when you prepare food (?!). I also felt like a dumbass during first work weeks, but I think I am making progress (and actually feel competent now to maybe work as an exercise physiologist on my own!). But considering everything, there are so many good and nice moments and I feel super grateful to be here. Some days are bad, but then other days are so much better. I guess sometimes I just find adulting so hard - some people expect you to have your life figured out at 25 and I don't even know where I'm gonna live next year. Can somebody send help? Like, should I search for a job in Finland, Slovenia or Australia? Or just go to Canada? South America?
